Role Description The Textile Designer role at Swayam is a full-time, on-site position based in Gurugram. The Textile Designer will conceptualize and develop original patterns, prints, and surface designs for bed linens, curtains, table and kitchen linens, bags, accessories, and hospitality products. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating design concepts, preparing mood boards, working on repeat patterns, developing color stories, and translating design ideas into production-ready artwork. The role involves close collaboration with the design house, sampling, and production teams to ensure designs are technically feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with brand aesthetics. The Textile Designer will also review samples, refine designs based on feedback, stay updated on market trends, and contribute to special collections and customization projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in textiles and textile prints, with the ability to develop patterns suitable for diverse home furnishing product categories.
- Proficiency in embroidery techniques and surface ornamentation, with experience in integrating embroidery into contemporary textile designs.
- Skills in graphics and graphic design, including the ability to create digital artwork, repeats, and colorways using industry-standard design software.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Understanding of fabric types, dyes, printing techniques, and production constraints in home textiles.
- Strong sense of color, composition, and trend awareness, with the ability to balance creativity and commercial appeal.
- Experience working with manufacturing or export-oriented home fashion brands is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and willingness to collaborate closely with design, sampling, and production teams on-site.
