Job Description
This is a Permanent Role with a Big 4 firm, a Valued Clients of People Impact
We are looking for a
QA Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in
test automation. The ideal candidate should be proficient in building and maintaining automation frameworks, with a primary focus on
API testing and backend validation, along with some UI automation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test frameworks using Java
- Perform API testing (primary focus ~80%) and validate backend services
- Execute UI automation testing (~20%) using modern tools
- Build reliable, scalable, and maintainable test scripts
- Work closely with development teams to understand requirements and define test strategies
- Identify, log, and track defects with clear reporting and debugging details
- Ensure test coverage for functional, regression, and integration testing
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Java (test automation perspective)
- Expertise in Selenium WebDriver
- Strong experience in API testing (REST APIs)
- Good understanding of test automation frameworks and design principles
- Hands-on experience with Playwright (UI automation) is highly preferred
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in test environments
- Understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile processes
Good to Have
- Experience with test frameworks like TestNG / JUnit
- CI/CD integration for automated testing pipelines
- Experience with tools like Postman
- Knowledge of performance or contract testing
