Purpose of the job: The role involves testing, validation, and certification of lithium-ion battery systems used in Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The candidate will ensure performance, safety, and compliance. Key Accountabilities/Duties & Responsibilities 1. Battery Testing & Validation
· Perform testing at cell, module, pack, and system levels
· Conduct capacity, cycle life, and efficiency testing
· Execute charge/discharge and C-rate performance tests
· Perform reliability and aging analysis 2. Safety & Abuse Testing
· Conduct overcharge, over-discharge, and short-circuit tests
· Perform thermal runaway, nail penetration, and crush tests
· Analyse failures and implement corrective actions
· Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards 3. BMS Validation
· Validate SOC (State of Charge) and SOH (State of Health) algorithms
· Test cell balancing and protection features
· Verify communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus 4.Test Planning & Documentation
· Develop test plans, procedures, and validation protocols
· Prepare detailed test reports and compliance documentation
· Support certification and regulatory approvals. 5. Data Analysis & Reporting
· Analyse battery performance metrics (SOC, SOH, DoD)
· Evaluate degradation trends and failure patterns. 6. Lab & Equipment Handling
· Operate battery cyclers and environmental chambers
· Use thermal imaging and data acquisition systems
· Ensure lab safety and equipment calibration
