Role Overview
We are looking for a Test Engineer / Senior Test Engineer to support quality assurance for Synergi Life, DNV’s risk and QHSE management application. This role focuses on hands-on manual testing to ensure that features function correctly across workflows related to incident management, risk management, compliance, and overall user experience. This role will operate out of our Pune office (Hybrid working), and will be a part of our global team. Experience working with Europe teams & time zone would be preferred, although not mandatory.
Why Manual Testing Still Matters to us: In the Synergi Life Core Development team, we actively work with shift-left testing practices to improve delivery speed and engineering efficiency. However, manual testing remains essential for uncovering risks that automation cannot fully detect, such as usability issues, edge cases, and real-world workflow challenges.
- This role would evolve into Manual + Automation testing, with the primary goal being Manual testing in the short to medium term.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual functional testing of Synergi Life web application features
- Execute test cases and test scenarios based on requirements
- Identify, report, and track defects clearly
- Validate bug fixes and perform regression testing
- Test end-to-end workflows (incident reporting, risk handling, audits, etc.)
- Collaborate with developers and product owners to clarify requirements
- Participate in sprint testing activities in an Agile environment
- Support quality assurance efforts for new feature releases where manual validation is essential

Qualifications
About you
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Overall 7 to 12 years of experience in Software Testing
Technical Skills
- Strong experience testing web-based applications
- Strong understanding of:
- Test case design
- Defect lifecycle management
- Regression and exploratory testing
- Exploratory testing mindset with ability to identify issues beyond predefined test cases
- Ability to understand complex business workflows and validate real-world user scenarios
Tools & Environment
- Agile/Scrum methodology
- Azure DevOps for reporting and tracking defects
- SQL knowledge is an advantage
- Knowledge of automated test development is an advantage and may be beneficial if automation support is required in the future
Personal & Professional Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to uncover edge cases and risks
- Clear communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Strong quality mindset with focus on both functional correctness and user experience
