What To Expect
Tesla Insurance supports Tesla’s mission aiming to reduce the cost of ownership of our vehicles, by minimizing insurance cost and establishing a feedback loop to the OEM, while improving the end-to-end customer experience. This role is pivotal to ensuring that leadership has an in-depth understanding of drivers of the business outcomes, operational processes and areas of potential improvements. It is also critical in building out the reports and tools used by various business units within Tesla Insurance, including Claims and Agency, and external reporting.
This position can sit in Austin, TX, Hayward, CA, Owing-Mills, MD, or Draper, UT.
What You'll Do
Support the business by performing on-going and ad-hoc analysis on various insurance datasets to glean actionable insights, communicating findings to leadershipDevelop predictive and other models to support various business needs, leading the implementation of these models into the various insurance systems while monitoring their impact and accuracyDevelop and implement various internal and external monitoring and reporting toolsLead in the maintenance of the various insurance data marts used for analysis and reporting, including souring and ingesting external data sourcesProvide business requirements for changes, enhancements and new features for various IT systems including claims and policy managementDevelop and maintain the tools necessary to support the abovePartner with various business stakeholders, including Claims, Finance, Product, Pricing, Underwriting, Data Science, IT, Engineering and insurance leadership
What You'll Bring
5+ years relevant experience in insurance, analytics, modeling and data scienceBachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experienceStrong analytical and modelling skills, with extensive experience in SQL and Python, and the ability to learn new programming languagesSelf-starter with a willingness to roll up their sleeves and get involved with projects in the larger insurance organizationExcellent written and verbal communication skills to a wide variety of audiencesAbility to work in an unstructured environment, with strong first-principles problem-solving and project management skillsExperience with Big Data, Natural Language Processing, Image Processing and other novel data science fields is preferred

Expected Compensation
$75,600 - $199,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
