What To Expect
Join our Tesla Engineering Germany GmbH team in Freiburg, Germany as a Firmware Validation/Verification Engineer (m/f/d) and play a key role in shaping high-performance embedded systems for power electronics. You'll design and execute test plans, debug complex firmware, and refine validation processes to ensure top-tier reliability. Collaborating with talented hardware and firmware engineers, you’ll help develop cutting-edge power electronics products. What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute test plans, perform functional and system-level testing, and secure firmware reliability in power electronics applications
  • Thoroughly examine and deconstruct complex embedded systems, proactively identifying every potential issue to ensure robust and reliable firmware performance
  • Maintain and optimize the testing infrastructure (HIL, SIL, etc.) to ensure seamless integration with existing test plans, enabling efficient and scalable firmware validation
  • Manage and execute release testing to ensure firmware meets all quality and functional standards before deployment
  • Work closely with the Firmware Development Engineers to develop new and enhance existing real-time software in C in RTOS environments
  • Collaborate with both Hardware and Firmware teams to co-design complex, high-power/high-voltage products


  • What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field 
  • Several years of experience in firmware verification and validation
  • Proficiency in C and python
  • Extensive knowledge of power electronic converters (AC/DC, DC/DC)
  • Hands-on technical experience debugging complex systems involving networked microprocessors and software-controlled electrical or electromechanical devices
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset and strong English communication skills
  • Ability to deliver high-quality results, while effectively managing shifting priorities and demanding conditions
