What To Expect
The key objective of the Machine Vision Cell Engineering team is to develop new and innovative solutions in the factory and to help Tesla achieve its ambitious manufacturing goals.
Our team’s goal is to move the world towards sustainability by creating the manufacturing systems necessary for Tesla to produce batteries. We deploy and maintain advanced vision and marking systems to ensure top quality batteries.
This Engineering intern will work under the guidance of Engineers to execute project tasks relating to manufacturing needs. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with cross-functional partners.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated an interest in computer and industrial systems, especially cameras. They should also want to be on the front line of the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the world.
What You'll Do
Daily roles and responsibilities include hands-on, lineside deployment and maintenance of vision and marking systemsTesla provides training on all software required to perform the role – no prior experience with machine vision needed, although a willingness to learn is crucialSignificant part of the role is system validation, especially image collection and interpretation, manual measurements to validate machine data, and validation of machine learning and pattern recognitionSupport engineers as they iterate on these systems by providing direct feedback on how the systems are functioning on the line
What You'll Bring
Very good knowledge of English, both written and spokenWorking towards a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldGood written communication skills and willingness to documentAbility to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environmentProgramming skill with C++, C# or Python is a plus
