Role Purpose:
The Territory Sales Manager will be responsible for driving capital equipment and solution sales within the assigned territory. The role involves strategic territory management, customer relationship development, business generation, and achieving revenue targets.
The incumbent will work closely with internal teams and channel partners to identify new opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and strengthen market presence in the Life Sciences and Genomics domain.
Key Responsibilities:
· Cover assigned target customers through effective product promotion and structured sales planning
· Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue objectives within the territory
· Generate new business opportunities through strategic territory mapping and customer engagement
· Maintain accurate sales forecasting and opportunity tracking in the CRM system
· Ensure regular updating of leads, pipeline status, and opportunity progression
· Stay updated with emerging technologies, new research projects, market developments, and competitor offerings
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in research institutes, diagnostic labs, and biotech/pharma companies
· Coordinate with application, marketing, and service teams to support customer requirements and close opportunities
· Participate in conferences, seminars, and technical events to enhance brand visibility and lead generation
Must -Have Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Genomics market
- Proven ability to manage territory sales and achieve targets
- Experience in capital instrument sales (preferred)
- Good knowledge of CRM systems and sales forecasting processes
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and customer relationship skills
- Ability to identify and convert new business opportunities
Good-to-Have Competencies:
- Exposure to NGS, Genomics, Flow Cytometry, or Cell Biology platforms
- Experience handling institutional and government accounts
- Strong market intelligence and competitor analysis capability
- Ability to conduct technical discussions with researchers and scientists
Education & Experience:
· Essential: MSc in Life Sciences or related discipline
· Preferred: Experience in Capital Equipment / Instrument Sales.
· Experience: Minimum 3 years of sales experience in Life Sciences industry.
