Territory Manager – Market Growth & Sales
Location: Thane, Maharashtra, India

About the Company
Shaadi.com is a consumer internet platform transforming how millions of people discover meaningful relationships. The company operates at the intersection of technology, consumer engagement, and relationship discovery, using digital products and market-led growth to connect people at scale. This role contributes directly to expanding the company’s presence, strengthening its sales ecosystem, and unlocking new revenue opportunities across an owned territory. The organization values commercial ownership, customer obsession, data-led decision-making, and continuous improvement. Team members are expected to operate with accountability and connect their decisions to measurable business outcomes. As the company continues building its next chapter of growth, this is an opportunity to influence market penetration, revenue performance, territory economics, and the quality of customer experience delivered through the sales organization.
About the Role
The Territory Manager will own market growth, sales performance, and territory economics for an assigned market in Thane. This role combines commercial strategy, business development, sales execution, and operational leadership to build a stronger and more productive revenue engine. You will translate market opportunities into focused plans, establish scalable sales processes, and ensure teams consistently deliver against ambitious targets. Success means improving penetration, conversion, productivity, customer experience, and profitable growth while resolving issues that could affect business continuity. The ideal candidate brings strong sales ownership from the EdTech domain, especially experience selling to customers or markets in the United States, New Zealand, Canada, or Australia. You will work closely with stakeholders, lead through influence, and use data to make timely decisions. This is a high-ownership opportunity for someone who wants to build a market and directly shape business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own territory revenue, sales performance, and commercial outcomes through targets, reviews, and corrective actions that improve growth, productivity, and conversion.
- Develop market expansion plans using customer insights, competitive signals, and performance data to increase Shaadi.com’s presence and penetration across the territory.
- Manage territory economics and P&L levers by balancing acquisition, productivity, operating costs, and revenue quality to deliver sustainable business performance.
- Build scalable sales strategies and operating processes that improve funnel visibility, team effectiveness, forecasting accuracy, and consistent execution against ambitious targets.
- Identify new business opportunities, prioritise emerging markets, and convert local insights into measurable revenue initiatives with clear owners, milestones, and outcomes.
- Build a high-performance sales culture through coaching, accountability, customer obsession, capability development, and continuous improvement across the territory team.
- Ensure seamless territory operations by resolving escalations early, coordinating stakeholders, and protecting customer experience, revenue continuity, and execution quality.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- 4–8 years in sales, inside sales, business development, market development, or territory management, preferably within the EdTech sector or a comparable consumer-growth business.
- Demonstrated experience selling to or managing sales performance across the United States, New Zealand, Canada, or Australia markets, with strong understanding of international customer expectations.
- Proven ownership of revenue targets, sales strategy, business development, market expansion, funnel performance, and process optimisation in target-driven environments.
- Practical exposure to P&L or territory economics, commercial planning, forecasting, productivity management, and data-led performance reviews.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, influencing, coaching, escalation management, and decision-making capabilities in fast-paced operating environments.
- Comfortable using CRM, sales dashboards, reporting tools, and business data to diagnose performance, improve conversion, and make commercially sound decisions.
Additional Plus
- Experience leading inside-sales or consultative-sales teams serving international EdTech customers, learners, institutions, or education-focused buyers across multiple geographies.
- Experience launching new territories, building sales channels, or creating repeatable playbooks that improved market penetration, revenue, or sales productivity.
- Familiarity with consumer internet, subscription, marketplace, digital services, or other high-growth business models involving customer acquisition and retention.
What You'll Bring
- Commercial ownership: You take responsibility for revenue, targets, territory economics, and business outcomes, connecting daily decisions to measurable growth and profitability.
- International sales perspective: You bring hands-on experience selling into the United States, New Zealand, Canada, or Australia, ideally from an EdTech environment with demanding customer expectations.
- Market-building capability: You can assess opportunity, create practical expansion plans, and turn underpenetrated markets into repeatable revenue engines through disciplined execution.
- Data-led leadership: You use dashboards, funnel metrics, forecasts, and customer signals to diagnose problems, improve conversion, and raise team productivity.
- Team leadership: You motivate, coach, influence, and hold people accountable while building a culture centred on customer obsession, high standards, and continuous improvement.
- Operational judgment: You anticipate risks, resolve critical escalations, align stakeholders, and make timely decisions in a fast-paced consumer business.
- Communication strength: You present clear recommendations, manage diverse stakeholders, and create alignment around priorities, trade-offs, and expected business impact.
- Bachelor’s degree and 4–8 years of relevant experience in sales, business development, market development, inside sales, or territory management.
Why Join Us
This role gives you the opportunity to own a market as a business, not simply manage a sales patch. You will influence territory strategy, revenue delivery, market penetration, sales productivity, customer experience, and territory economics in a visible role with meaningful commercial accountability. Your decisions will shape how the company strengthens its presence, discovers new opportunities, and builds a more scalable sales ecosystem. The position is especially suited to an EdTech sales leader who has worked across international markets and wants to apply that experience within a recognised consumer internet brand. You will operate close to the business, work with senior stakeholders, and see the connection between insight, execution, and measurable outcomes. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on action: building plans, improving processes, coaching teams, resolving escalations, and converting opportunities into growth. If you thrive on ownership, scale, revenue, market creation, and impact, this is an opportunity to help build the next chapter of Shaadi.com’s growth while expanding your own leadership scope.
