<div>We are looking for an outstanding <strong>Cost Estimator </strong>located in Southern California/OC to work with our client, who has experience in aviation facilities and rail construction, particularly commercial airport terminal work. Experience as an estimator working for a General Engineering Contractor on large civil works construction projects (greater than $500 million and over three-years in duration), with 8+ years of general estimating experience and knowledge of Progressive Design Build/CMAR delivery methods are key qualifiers. The <strong>Cost Estimator </strong>will participate as integral member of the Renovation and Reconstruction project.<br><br>
</div><div>This position requires certification for cost estimating, including as a Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar.<br><br>

<strong>Daily Duties<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>Review the proposal and assist with the determination of merit</li>
<li>Develop conceptual and detailed estimates for various scopes of work</li>
<li>Direct and manage other estimators/estimating teams as needed; Train subordinate estimating personnel as needed</li>
<li>Review construction and design cost proposals and change order requests – assist with the determination of merit</li>
<li>Review the labor rates and markups to ensure conformance to the contract specifications</li>
<li>Review quantities and labor productivity to ensure fair and reasonable representation of scope</li>
<li>Review the material pricing and validate against R.S. Means for other pricing references</li>
<li>Review contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes</li>
<li>Establish basis of the owner's acceptance or rejection of proposals and develop records of negotiation</li>
<li>Reconcile contractor, internal and third-party estimates</li>
<li>Proactively establish a routine reporting cycle that clearly communicates when an estimate changes and why</li>
<li>Accumulate, evaluate and document historical cost data for the development of future estimates</li>
<li>Provide coordination and liaison with project management personnel and other estimating resources throughout the estimate development</li>
<li>Provide accuracy, reliability and completeness in all work products</li>
<li>Effective oral and written communication skills</li>

<strong>Minimum Qualifications<br></strong><br>
</div><ul>
<li>8<strong>+ years of cost estimating experience directly related to both engineering and construction projects</strong>
</li>
<li><strong>Certifications required, may include PMP, PE, and/or any other relevant Professional Licensure or Certification. Required to have certified estimating professional credentials, such as a Certified Professional Estimator</strong></li>
<li><strong>Previous experience with public airport projects is a must; experience within a commercial airport terminal or light rail system are highly desirable</strong></li>
<li>Demonstrated experience with complex estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations</li>
<li>Previous experience with Terminal renovations</li>
<li>Demonstrated proficiency estimating formats, including Uniformat II</li>
<li>Proficient with industry estimating databases and other estimating data sources, e.g. RS Means, Lee Saylor, Trade Services, Equipment Watch, Richardsons, etc.</li>
<li>Proficient with large-scale estimating software</li>
<li>Experience with On-screen Take-off is highly desirable</li>
<li>Microsoft Office Suite</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience with complex estimating reconciliations and change order negotiations</li>
</ul><div>
<strong>Required Education<br></strong><br>
</div><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. <strong>Master's degree strongly preferred.</strong>
