Essential Functions

  1. Position Responsibilities:
  • Must understand and practice all necessary safety procedures to include lock-out/tag-out
  • Must properly cycle and keep ends up on all assigned frames
  • Must efficiently doff all assigned frames and return them to production
  • Must learn the different fibers and blends
  • Must learn and understand the yarn count system
  • Must maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Must perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management
  • Must be able to differentiate colors
  1. Perform any other general duties as deemed necessary by the shift manager.
  1. The associate will also be responsible to:
    1. Arrive early enough to store all their personal items in their assigned locker. Food items may be stored in the refrigerator outside the break area.
    2. Punch in no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of their assigned shift and no later than 5 minutes prior to the beginning of their assigned shift and punch out no earlier than the shift will end.
    3. Attend the pre-shift safety meeting scheduled to start 5 minutes prior to the beginning of their assigned shift.
    4. Wear their assigned PPE in the designated areas and when performing specific task throughout the shift.
    5. Follow all safety rules to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
    6. Report to their assigned work area and begin work immediately following the pre-shift safety/information meeting.
    7. Continue to work in their assigned work area until relieved by the associate from the following shift assigned to their job.

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses highly specialized lab equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust and various chemicals, and moving mechanical parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and non-skid shoes.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, sit, walk, stand, and hear. This employee may be required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch and occasionally lift up to 50 Ibs.  The employee must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision.

 Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours will be determined by shift. Weekends and overtime may be required as job duties demand.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Associate must be able to learn to differentiate all fiber and fiber types, understand the weight system, learn band colors for each fiber, and learn safety guidelines and procedures.
