Helloworld is a leading co-living and living solutions company operating across multiple cities in India. With a large portfolio of properties and tenants, timely rent collection and effective recovery of outstanding dues are critical to our business.
We are looking for a Tenant Recovery & Collections Specialist who will take ownership of overdue tenant accounts, communicate with tenants to recover outstanding amounts, and work closely with the Finance, Legal, Property Management and Operations teams to ensure that all dues are resolved and cases are closed systematically.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the recovery of outstanding rent, utility charges, damages, penalties and other tenant dues.
- Contact tenants through calls, WhatsApp, SMS and email regarding pending payments.
- Understand the reason for non-payment and work with tenants to identify practical resolution timelines.
- Negotiate payment commitments while adhering to Helloworld's recovery policies.
- Maintain consistent follow-ups until the outstanding amount is fully recovered.
- Handle difficult or non-responsive tenants professionally and firmly.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The success of this role will primarily be measured by:
- Recovery % of assigned outstanding dues
- Amount recovered per month
- Reduction in ageing of outstanding dues
- Number of cases successfully closed
- Promise-to-pay conversion and adherence
- Reduction in cases moving to legal escalation
- Recovery turnaround time
- Accuracy of recovery and reconciliation records
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Strong in collections, recovery, receivables or debt recovery.
- Comfortable making a high volume of calls and following up persistently.
- Firm but professional while dealing with difficult conversations.
- Strong at negotiation and objection handling.
- Highly organized and comfortable managing a large number of cases simultaneously.
- Good with Excel/Google Sheets and basic MIS reporting.
- Comfortable coordinating across Finance, Legal, Operations and Property Management.
- Data-oriented and able to prioritize cases based on recovery potential.
- Proactive and ownership-driven rather than waiting for instructions.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
