About Heal Easy
Heal Easy is building a technology-enabled healthcare platform that helps people manage chronic health conditions through doctor-led treatment, nutrition, lifestyle modification, and continuous patient support.
We are developing a structured, medically supervised weight-management program for Telugu-speaking patients. The program combines appropriate medical treatment, nutrition guidance, lifestyle coaching, regular monitoring, and long-term accountability.
We are looking for a doctor who believes that GLP-1 medication should not be offered as a shortcut or sold indiscriminately. It should be prescribed responsibly to suitable patients, combined with sustainable lifestyle changes, and monitored carefully throughout the treatment journey.
Role Outcome
The doctor will be responsible for safely evaluating, onboarding, prescribing for, and medically monitoring eligible Telugu-speaking patients throughout a structured four-month GLP-1 weight-management journey.
The ideal doctor should be able to:
- Conduct clear and empathetic consultations primarily in Telugu.
- Assess whether a patient is medically suitable for GLP-1 treatment.
- Explain the benefits, limitations, costs, possible side effects, and expected treatment journey.
- Address patients’ concerns and help suitable patients make an informed treatment decision.
- Prescribe and adjust medication independently based on clinical judgment.
- Monitor progress, adherence, adverse effects, and complications throughout the program.
- Work collaboratively with nutritionists, health coaches, and the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Initial Medical Assessment
- Conduct video or telephone consultations in Telugu.
- Review the patient’s medical history, current medications, previous weight-loss attempts, laboratory reports, and relevant health conditions.
- Assess BMI, metabolic risk factors, weight-related complications, and treatment objectives.
- Identify contraindications, precautions, drug interactions, and patients who require additional investigation or specialist referral.
- Determine whether GLP-1 therapy is clinically appropriate for each patient.
- Decline or defer treatment when it is unsafe or medically inappropriate.
2. Patient Education and Informed Decision-Making
- Explain how GLP-1 medications work in simple Telugu.
- Set realistic expectations regarding weight loss, timelines, plateaus, appetite changes, and long-term weight maintenance.
- Explain common and serious adverse effects, precautions, treatment alternatives, and circumstances requiring urgent medical attention.
- Address fear, misinformation, and hesitation without pressuring the patient.
- Help clinically eligible patients understand the complete four-month program and make an informed decision.
- Document informed consent and all material clinical discussions.
3. Prescription and Clinical Management
- Prescribe GLP-1 medication only when clinically indicated and legally permissible.
- Select the appropriate medication and dosage based on the patient’s condition and applicable clinical guidance.
- Make titration, continuation, pause, switching, or discontinuation decisions based on tolerability and clinical response.
- Avoid automatic dose escalation when a patient is experiencing significant side effects or has other medical concerns.
- Maintain complete prescription and consultation records.
- Follow applicable telemedicine, prescription, privacy, and medical-record requirements.
4. Four-Month Patient Monitoring
- Conduct scheduled follow-up consultations during the four-month program.
- Monitor weight, waist measurements, appetite, energy, treatment adherence, and relevant metabolic parameters.
- Review nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhoea, reflux, abdominal pain, dehydration, hypoglycaemia risk, and other potential adverse effects.
- Monitor patients for loss of lean muscle, inadequate protein intake, micronutrient deficiencies, and unsustainable eating patterns.
- Identify warning signs and escalate patients for physical examination, emergency care, laboratory testing, or specialist review when required.
- Support patients through weight-loss plateaus, missed doses, travel, illness, and adherence challenges.
- Develop a medically appropriate maintenance or transition plan at the end of the program.
5. Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Collaborate with nutritionists and health coaches while maintaining independent clinical decision-making.
- Provide the care team with clear information about patient-specific precautions and treatment priorities.
- Participate in clinical case-review meetings.
- Help develop consultation checklists, patient-education materials, adverse-event protocols, and escalation pathways.
- Contribute to improving the safety, consistency, and patient experience of the program.
