JOB SUMMARY

TekniPlex is hiring a Production Helper II located in Madison, WI. This role provides essential support to both warehouse operations and production lines. It is warehouse-focused, with additional responsibilities assisting production teams through line staging, setup assistance, pack-out, and cleanup. The Production Helper ensures materials are accurately staged, inventory is properly managed, and production areas remain organized, safe, and efficient. All work is performed in compliance with company safety, quality, and GMP requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pull, stage, and transport raw materials and finished goods to support production schedules
  • Maintain inventory location accuracy and update material locations as required
  • Move raw materials to machines and return unused materials to designated storage areas
  • Relocate finished goods to labeling or shipping areas and complete required labeling
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed
  • Operate forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles (PIVs) safely
  • Participate in monthly raw material inventories and recounts as required
  • Assist with maintaining FIFO (first-in/first-out) material flow
  • Perform core cutting and other warehouse support tasks assigned
  • Assist production lines with material staging and setup
  • Support pack-out operations to meet quality and productivity standards
  • Assist operators during printing, slitting, and compounding operations as directed
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks on production equipment and surrounding areas
  • Work in the cleaning room as required to support production needs
  • Follow all safety rules, GMP/GDP practices, and quality system requirements
  • Help the site achieve quality and productivity objectives
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Assist with training and onboarding of teammates as assigned
  • Process and document new ISO procedures when required
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift certification with 1–2 years of experience operating material handling equipment
  • Basic understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and FIFO practices
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in variable environmental conditions (heat, cold, dock areas)
  • Comfortable working around hazardous materials
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well with diverse teams

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization.  Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic, flammable or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
