Role Description
The Tekla Designer will work full time on-site at the Saroornagar location, focusing on detailed modeling and drafting of steel and concrete structures using Tekla Structures.
Daily responsibilities include creating and managing 3D models, preparing fabrication and erection drawings, and coordinating design inputs with civil, structural, and architectural teams. The role involves reviewing design documents, interpreting engineering specifications, ensuring compliance with standards, and resolving detailing issues in collaboration with engineers and project managers. The Tekla Designer will participate in quality checks, maintain project documentation, and support efficient communication with global teams to meet schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures.
• Prepare General Arrangement (GA), fabrication, shop and erection drawings.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and project teams to ensure design accuracy and project compliance.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Generate NC files, Bills of Materials (BOMs), material take-offs and project reports.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, quality procedures and client requirements.
Qualifications
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, prior experience in industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
• 3–8 years of hands-on experience in structural steel detailing using Tekla Structures.
• Strong understanding of steel connections, fabrication drawings and detailing practices.
• Experience working on industrial and infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures (steel and/or concrete), including 3D modeling, connection detailing, and drawing generation.
- Sound understanding of structural engineering and steel detailing principles, fabrication processes, and relevant international standards.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary design inputs (civil, structural, architectural) and coordinating with engineers and project managers.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and BIM models with attention to accuracy and constructability.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a global team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, including time management, documentation, and adherence to project workflows and quality procedures.
- Willingness to work on-site in Saroornagar and align with global project schedules when needed.
Preferred Skills
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Familiarity with AISC, BS and/or Eurocode detailing standards.
• Ability to work independently and deliver projects within schedule.
