Summary:
Owns the strategic direction and execution of engineering across key product or platform areas. Leads multiple engineering teams and managers, ensuring technical excellence, delivery scalability, and organizational alignment with Tekion’s long-term business goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets vision and technical direction for engineering teams responsible for major product areas or platform services.
Partners with executive leadership, product management, and architecture to define roadmaps and investment strategies.
Builds and scales high-performing teams by developing organizational structure, hiring plans, and leadership pipelines.
Drives technical delivery across cross-functional initiatives, ensuring high quality, reliability, and speed of execution.
Promotes a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout engineering.
Oversees performance management, succession planning, and talent development for engineering leaders and senior staff.
Job Complexity: Oversees complex, cross-functional technical programs with significant business impact. Leads multiple teams and sets direction across the engineering organization.
Required Supervision: Operates with full strategic autonomy. Collaborates with C-level and senior stakeholders to align engineering execution with company goals.
Expertise: Recognized for executive-level engineering leadership, technical insight, and organizational scaling. Drives outcomes that influence both product development and engineering culture.
Qualifications:
12+ years of experience in software engineering, with 6+ years in senior engineering leadership roles
Proven experience leading large-scale, distributed engineering organizations in high-growth environments
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
Deep knowledge of cloud-native technologies, software architecture, and platform engineering
Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational leadership, and delivery management
Excellent executive communication, stakeholder influence, and cross-functional collaboration skills
