LH2Holdings is an AI-powered digital media accelerator and holding company. We acquire or partner with digital media brands (content websites now > youtube channels, social media creators, podcasts, newsletters in the future ) and scale them though tech, content and distribution infrastructure.
This is powered by LH2 Media OS - An AI-powered platform that helps digital content brands scale by optimizing the entire content value chain - from identifying viral topics and trends in real time to generating story angles, research, and editorial support. We currently work with ~25 brands across different niches with ~50M monthly pageviews under management wherein each brand has been scaled 3-10x.
Our vision is to become the largest distributed digital media company in the world. LH2 is being built by second-time founders who have scaled tech platforms with hundreds of millions of users.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Technology Lead (Backend) to lead backend architecture, engineering execution, infrastructure reliability, and team delivery across LH2 Holdings. You will work closely with product, operations, and leadership teams to design scalable backend systems, drive engineering best practices, mentor developers, and build high-performance platforms powering automation, AI workflows, internal tools, and business operations.
The ideal candidate has strong experience building production-grade backend systems using Java/Python technologies, handling distributed systems, scaling APIs and data infrastructure, and managing small-to-mid sized engineering teams in fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend systems, APIs, and distributed services using Java, Python, Spring Boot, FastAPI, or similar frameworks
- Architect reliable and scalable backend infrastructure for internal platforms, workflow systems, automation pipelines, and AI-powered products
- Drive technical decision-making across backend architecture, database design, caching strategies, queue systems, and infrastructure reliability
- Manage and mentor backend engineers by conducting code reviews, improving engineering standards, and supporting technical growth across the team
- Own backend data flows, integrations, asynchronous processing pipelines, and production-critical systems across the organization
- Improve backend performance, concurrency, scalability, fault tolerance, and observability across APIs, workers, queues, and services
- Implement engineering best practices around retries, rate limits, idempotency, caching, monitoring, logging, CI/CD, and deployment reliability
- Work closely with frontend, product, operations, and business teams on technical planning, API contracts, rollout strategies, and execution timelines
- Handle production troubleshooting, incident resolution, infrastructure debugging, and system reliability across backend services and deployments
- Drive technical roadmap execution while balancing product velocity, scalability, maintainability, and operational stability
Key Qualifications:
●5+ years of professional software development experience with strong backend engineering expertise
● Proven experience leading or managing engineering teams in production environments
● Strong experience with Java and/or Python in large-scale backend systems
● Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar
● Strong understanding of backend architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems, microservices, and service-to-service communication
● Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
● Experience with ORMs such as Hibernate, JPA, SQLAlchemy, or similar
● Comfortable working with MongoDB, Redis, queues, and asynchronous processing systems
● Experience building workflow systems, background jobs, event-driven systems, or queue-based architectures
● Good understanding of concurrency, scalability, fault tolerance, retries, caching, and performance optimization
● Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure concepts
● Strong debugging, logging, monitoring, and production troubleshooting skills
● Ability to manage technical delivery, mentor developers, and drive engineering best practices
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Nice to Have:
●Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Airflow, Celery, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar
● Experience with AI/LLM integrations such as OpenAI, LangChain, embeddings, RAG pipelines, or agent frameworks
● Experience building high-throughput automation, ingestion, scraping, or data pipeline systems
● Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Hetzner, or similar
● Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS architecture, RBAC, authentication, authorization, and OAuth systems
● Experience handling engineering hiring, sprint planning, or team management processes
● Prior experience working in fast-moving startups or high-growth product environments
