Senior Platform Engineer – Apache Kafka

We are seeking two experienced Platform Engineers to join a mission-critical initiative focused on developing a resilient, enterprise-grade distributed event streaming platform based on Apache Kafka. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about DevOps, infrastructure automation, and platform reliability. Key Responsibilities: Manage and enhance a Kafka-based distributed streaming platform. Ensure high availability through 24×7 support and on-call rotations. Collaborate with development teams to integrate and optimize Kafka workloads. Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code using modern DevOps tools. Contribute to the transition towards a managed service engagement model. Required Skills: 5+ years in Kafka administration, DevOps, and SRE practices. Proficient in Kafka architecture, tuning, and operational best practices. Hands-on with Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) and Kafka Operators (Strimzi). Experience with Terraform, Helm, CI/CD tools. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Golang. Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry). Knowledge of Kafka tools like MirrorMaker 2.0, ksqlDB, Streams, and Schema Registry. Understanding of networking, service mesh, DNS, and Kubernetes security. Soft Skills: Effective communicator and mentor. Evangelist for Kafka and automation practices. Comfortable leading internal tech talks and writing technical content. Collaborative mindset across cross-functional teams.
