We are recruiting for a Research Assistant - Threads & Forge Design Factory at our Limerick School of Art & Design, Clare Street Campus.

Role holders at this level are concerned with assisting an individual research leader or team to conduct a particular study (or group of studies). They will generally be involved in equipment operation, data generation and/or collection using standard and well-defined methods developed by others. They will be working under close supervision by, and direction from, a more senior researcher or member of academic staff, who will be ultimately responsible for the project.

LSAD is seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to support an exciting project: Forge Design Factory (FDF), part of the Design Factory Global Network, is an innovative regional design centre, supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration across the Midlands and Midwest regions of Ireland. FDF aims to foster creativity, knowledge exchange, and resilience through design. This role will contribute to FDF’s efforts in developing design infrastructure and expanding operations through a Hub and Spoke model.

The Research Assistant will provide vital support in research, project management, and stakeholder engagement. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to impactful, sustainability-driven projects at the intersection of design and environmental innovation.
