Role Description The Composite Technician will work on-site in India in a full-time capacity, supporting the fabrication and assembly of composite components for advanced drone systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing molds and tools, laying up composite materials (such as carbon fiber and fiberglass), and performing vacuum bagging, curing, trimming, and finishing operations. The role involves inspecting parts for structural integrity and quality, interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions, and collaborating with engineers and production team members to resolve manufacturing issues. The Composite Technician will also maintain a clean and safe workspace, support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, and assist with repairs and modifications to composite structures as needed.
Qualifications
- Hands-on skills in composite fabrication and assembly, including layup, vacuum bagging, curing, trimming, and finishing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and technical work instructions.
- Familiarity with materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, resins, and adhesives, and their safe handling and storage.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools, measurement instruments, and workshop equipment in a production environment.
- Knowledge of quality inspection practices for composite parts, including visual checks and dimensional verification.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Commitment to workplace safety, housekeeping standards, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
- Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, marine, or related composite manufacturing is an advantage.
- Diploma, certificate, or vocational training in mechanical, aeronautical, or related fields preferred; practical experience in composites will be highly valued.
