Job Summary:
- Position: Field Technical Trainer
- Locations Open: Bangalore, Hubli, Trivandrum, Puducherry, Vijayawada
- Education: B.Tech in Electrical or Electronics – Mandatory
- Language: Native language proficiency of the respective location – Mandatory
Purpose of the Position:
The Field Technical Trainer is responsible for enhancing the technical knowledge and service skills of front-line service technicians. The role focuses on delivering structured technical training, ensuring service quality, first-time-right repairs, and adherence to company standards, thereby improving customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Training & Development:
Conduct induction training for new technicians and refresher training for existing teams, covering product knowledge, installation, troubleshooting, repair procedures, and safety standards.
2. On-the-Job Coaching:
Provide hands-on field coaching to technicians, identify technical skill gaps, and offer real-time guidance during service calls.
3. Service Performance Enhancement:
Support the service team in achieving KPIs such as FTR (First Time Right), TAT, reduction in repeat complaints, and service quality benchmarks through effective training interventions.
4. Training Calendar & Execution:
Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing the branch technical training calendar to ensure timely and consistent skill development.
5. Product & Process Updates:
Train teams on new product launches, technical updates, SOP changes, and service process improvements.
6. Performance Monitoring:
Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, field observations, audits, and service performance data.
7. Interdepartmental Coordination:
Collaborate with service operations, quality, and product teams to develop customized technical training modules based on field issues and market needs.
8. Use of Digital Platforms:
Utilize digital tools such as One IFB and Collabor8 for technical content delivery, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
9. Quality & Safety Compliance:
Ensure technicians follow safety norms, service guidelines, and quality standards during installation and service activities.
10. Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain training records, attendance, assessment results, and submit regular reports on training coverage and impact on service performance.
Key Skills & Competencies:
• Strong technical knowledge of home appliances / consumer durables
• Excellent training, communication, and demonstration skills
• Ability to coach and mentor field technicians
• Analytical skills to identify training needs and measure effectiveness
• Adaptability to new technologies and product innovations
• Proficiency in MS Office and digital learning platforms
Experience:
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in technical training, preferably in the home appliances or consumer durables industry
• Strong hands-on service experience with a proven track record of improving service quality and technician performance
