Technical Lead / Team Lead – Laravel (PHP)
We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead / Team Lead (Laravel) who leads from the front and takes complete ownership of technical delivery. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications while guiding and mentoring a team of developers.
You will play a key role in translating business requirements into robust technical architectures, ensuring high-quality code delivery, and driving engineering best practices. This position also involves close collaboration with Project Managers, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth and successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Own technical architecture and end-to-end delivery of web, cloud, and AI-enabled applications
- Provide hands-on leadership across PHP (Laravel), JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
- Lead and mentor development teams; conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices
- Oversee the full SDLC from planning and estimation to deployment and production support
- Collaborate with Project Managers and clients to align technical solutions with business goals
- Design scalable system architecture, databases, APIs, and integrations
- Identify and mitigate performance, scalability, and security risks
- Drive quality, automation, and delivery excellence through CI/CD and modern DevOps practices
- Stay current with Laravel/PHP ecosystem advancements and modern web technologies, continuously improving system performance, maintainability, and architectural maturity
Qualifications & Technical skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science (BE / BTech) or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of overall experience with 2+ years in a Team Lead / Senior Developer role delivering web applications
- Strong hands-on experience in PHP (PHP 8+), Laravel, MVC architecture, and OOP principles
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)
- Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party integrations, and deployment processes
- Solid database knowledge (MySQL / PostgreSQL) with query optimization exposure; familiarity with NoSQL is a plus
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum development practices
- Familiarity with AWS or Azure, cloud fundamentals, performance optimization, and web security
- Experience mentoring teams, conducting code reviews, and ensuring clean, maintainable code
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills
Must have:
- Strong technical leadership with hands-on coding, architecture ownership, and code review experience
- Proven ability to mentor developers and drive team performance
- Clear communication skills to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Confident in owning technical decisions, managing stakeholders, and delivering outcomes
- Strong ownership mindset focused on quality, scalability, and long-term impact
Good to Have:
- Exposure to AI tools, LLM integrations, and automation platforms
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Experience with third-party APIs, payment gateways, and CRM integrations
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and basic project planning
- Experience working with remote teams
- Cloud or architecture certifications are a plus
