About The Role
We are seeking a Network/Technical Engineer to support our client located in Dehradun. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with a passion for technology and a keen interest in maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of security devices, managing network connectivity, and performing routine maintenance and upgrades. The role requires proactive problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of a 3-year Diploma or Graduation in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Prior experience of 0-2 years in network or technical support roles is preferred, but fresh graduates with a strong foundational knowledge are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a good understanding of network infrastructure, security devices, and basic troubleshooting techniques. Certifications related to network security or Cisco/Juniper networking are advantageous but not mandatory. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot breakdowns of network systems and security devices to ensure optimal performance.
- Manage spare parts, materials, and consumables required for network and security infrastructure maintenance.
- Conduct periodic database backups, restores, and prepare detailed reports on system performance on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Ensure fault-free operation of all security devices, including firmware upgrades and health checks.
- Monitor security device logs regularly to identify breaches, anomalies, or performance issues, and report findings promptly.
- Implement configuration changes, security rules, and firmware updates as required, maintaining the integrity of the security infrastructure.
- Oversee license and blade status of security devices, ensuring timely renewal and compliance.
- Monitor ISP connectivity status, report downtimes, and coordinate with service providers to restore connectivity with minimal downtime.
- Identify and address security vulnerabilities proactively, reporting issues and obtaining necessary approvals for fixes.
- Assist in the planning and execution of network and security infrastructure upgrades and enhancements.
- Perform routine health and performance checks of security devices and network systems, generating reports for management review.
- Handle any additional related tasks assigned by management, supporting the overall IT security and network infrastructure.
