Job Highlights
The Zscaler Security Engineer ensures the secure, stable, and scalable operation of the company’s global Zscaler platform (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) as a key element of the enterprise security architecture. The role directly supports the protection of users, applications, and data while enabling secure global access and a consistent user experience. As part of the global IT Network Services organization, the position contributes significantly to the company’s Zero Trust strategy, cybersecurity posture, and business continuity.
The position is accountable for implementing advanced security controls such as SSL inspection, CASB, DLP, sandboxing, and threat prevention, while optimizing traffic routing, latency, and user experience globally. It supports continuous monitoring, incident response, and threat mitigation in collaboration with SOC, ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to security standards.
- Design, implementation and operational ownership of Zscaler services (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) in a large enterprise environment.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of the platform
- Definition, optimization and enforcement of global security policies and access concepts in alignment with Zero Trust principles.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions. Ensure timely resolution aligned with SLA commitments.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex Zscaler- and network-security-related incidents across multiple domains.
- Continuous improvement of Zscaler architecture, performance, security posture and user experience in cooperation with global stakeholders.
- Provide technical expertise, documentation, and guidance for change, integration, and lifecycle management of Zscaler services.
Task Complexity
The role involves a high level of task complexity in a large, enterprise-scale environment (~13,000 users). While standard procedures and vendor best practices exist, many tasks require the independent design, refinement, and optimization of Zscaler ZIA, ZPA, and ZDX services. The incumbent exercises significant discretion and independent judgment in implementation, administration, and troubleshooting activities. The position is frequently confronted with non-routine, complex situations that demand analytical and adaptive thinking across network, security, and cloud domains. Conceptual and original thinking is required to design scalable Zero Trust architectures and to resolve complex, cross-functional issues. Failure in this role may result in widespread service disruption, security exposure, compliance risks, and negative business impact.
