A Snapshot
The Technical Specialist – Yardi is responsible for partnering with Finance, Property, Procurement and business stakeholders to understand business requirements, optimise business processes, and deliver effective solutions within the Yardi platform. Reporting to the Service Owner – Commercial, this role serves as the key link between business users, implementation partners, and Technology teams, ensuring business needs are translated into scalable, sustainable Yardi solutions.
The role combines business analysis, functional solution design, application administration, operational support, and continuous improvement across the Yardi platform. Working closely with business stakeholders and implementation partners, the Technical Specialist ensures the platform remains stable, secure, and aligned with business objectives while driving adoption of Yardi best practices.
Your Day to Day
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Partner with Finance, Property, Procurement and Operations stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitate workshops, process reviews, and requirements gathering sessions to capture business needs.
- Analyse current and future-state business processes and identify opportunities to optimise processes through Yardi capabilities.
- Develop business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Ensure requirements are documented, prioritised, and traceable throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Solution Design & Functional Consulting
- Translate business requirements into scalable functional solution designs leveraging Yardi best practices.
- Collaborate with implementation partners and technical teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives.
- Provide functional expertise across Yardi modules including Property Management, Lease Administration, Procure-to-Pay, Fixed Assets, Construction Management, Commercial Management, and Financial Management as applicable.
- Evaluate solution options and provide recommendations balancing business value, platform capability, scalability, and operational supportability.
- Review and validate functional designs, system configurations, and solution documentation.
System Administration & Operational Support
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for Yardi-related incidents, service requests, and production issues.
- Configure and maintain workflows, security roles, approval processes, notifications, and application parameters.
- Monitor application performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Support application upgrades, patches, releases, and system maintenance activities.
- Manage user access, security, and system configuration in accordance with governance and compliance standards.
- Coordinate with vendors and implementation partners to resolve complex application
Testing & Change Delivery
- Design and execute test scenarios and test cases to validate solution outcomes.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
- Assist with defect triage, root cause analysis, and validation of fixes.
- Deliver small to medium application enhancements and configuration changes.
- Support deployment planning, release management, and business readiness activities.
- Ensure all changes comply with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Management processes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on Yardi capabilities and process optimisation.
- Build strong relationships across Finance, Property, Procurement, Technology, and external partners.
- Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Provide guidance and support to end users to maximise platform adoption and effectiveness.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, user experience, automation, and platform utilisation.
- Participate in problem management and root cause analysis activities.
- Recommend improvements that enhance operational efficiency and system performance.
- Stay current with Yardi product enhancements, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
- Support roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives for the Yardi platform.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Create and maintain business process documentation, functional specifications, configuration documentation, support procedures, and operational guides.
- Document business rules, workflows, integrations, and configuration decisions.
- Maintain knowledge articles, troubleshooting guides, and known error documentation.
- Support knowledge transfer, training, and user enablement activities.
Requirements
- Essential:
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience supporting enterprise applications in a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, Application Specialist, or Solution Specialist capacity.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and supporting Yardi solutions.
- Strong understanding of Finance, Construction, real-estate and Property management processes.
- Experience gathering and documenting complex business requirements.
- Experience translating business requirements into functional solution designs.
- Strong knowledge of application configuration, workflows, security, and business process optimisation.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and release activities.
- Experience providing Level 2 and Level 3 application support.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with third-party implementation partners and vendors.
- Experience working in Agile, hybrid, or traditional project delivery environments.
- Desirable:
- Experience with Yardi Voyager and modules such as Property Management, Lease Administration, Procure-to-Pay, Construction Manager, Fixed Assets, or Commercial Management.
- Experience with application integrations, APIs, middleware, or enterprise integration platforms.
- Experience with SQL, reporting tools, or Power BI.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management practices.
- Exposure to automation and workflow technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation or ERP implementation programs.
- Experience working within multinational or APAC organisations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Property, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years' experience in enterprise application support, business analysis, or solution consulting roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting Yardi (mandatory).
- Relevant Yardi certifications or training would be highly regarded.
- Global or APAC experience is advantageous.
