Role Overview:
The Technical Service Officer will provide on-site technical support, demonstration, troubleshooting, and product application guidance to carpenters, contractors, distributors, and project customers. The person must be able to resolve product performance concerns, support new product trials, and strengthen brand positioning through technical validation in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Technical Support & Application Guidance
- Conduct on-site product demonstrations for adhesives (PVA, epoxy, hybrid, woodworking adhesives).
- Train contractors, carpenters, fabricators, and channel partners on correct application techniques.
- Resolve customer complaints within defined timelines through root-cause analysis and corrective action.
Complaint Handling & Performance Validation
- Perform field failure analysis and propose improvements to avoid recurrence.
- Document and report technical issues to R&D, QA, and Product Management teams.
- Support validation trials for new adhesive grades before commercial launch.
Market Development & Product Testing
- Conduct market requirement studies and competitor product benchmarking.
- Work closely with the sales team to drive product adoption and improve market conversion.
- Provide technical feedback that assists in product enhancement and value positioning.
Training & Network Building
- Organize contractor / carpenter engagement meets, workshops, and application training.
- Develop and grow field-based influencer network (Carpenters, OEMs, Technicians).
Key Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on knowledge of wood adhesives / epoxy / hybrid / PVA / polymer chemistry applications.
- Excellent communication and field coordination skills.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and prepare technical reports.
- Comfortable with extensive field travel within the Mumbai / Maharashtra region.
