Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales & Marketing Manager to lead business development initiatives across key accounts and market segments. This is a strategic role responsible for managing enquiries, developing proposals, and identifying new market opportunities in the heavy engineering and steel industry.
Scope of Responsibility
- Full ownership of enquiries from government PSU in steel sector and related subsidiaries
- Management of consortium bids where PPRM is positioned as a partner or lead vendors
- Lead generation to contract closing
- Generation of new business for cis countries
- Handling new manufacturing & development job for reputed customers in different manufacturing segment
- Scouting and initial evaluation of new equipment and technology development opportunities
- Development opportunities of new business in sunrise sectors like defence, railways, aerospace etc.
- Development & partnership to new technologies companies
Required Qualifications
Educational Background: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering (MBA preferred but not mandatory)
Experience: 10 to 15 years of experience in technical sales or business development in the steel, metals, or heavy engineering industry
Key Competencies:
- Strong understanding of PSU procurement processes, particularly SAIL
- Demonstrated ability to prepare techno-commercial proposals independently
- Excellent technical knowledge of rolling mills, and associated equipment
- Proactive approach to identifying new product and technology opportunities
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Good relationships with steel giants like JSW, JSPL, AMNS etc will be added advantage
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarity experience in international business development
- Master's degree (MBA) in Business Administration or related field
- Experience with European market dynamics and procurement practices
