Role Description
The Technical Sales Manager is a Senior, customer‑facing technical sales professional responsible for business development, relationship management, and lead generation across Optima’s Non‑Woven and Consumer business units in India.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary customer-facing representative for Optima in India across the Non‑Wovens and Consumer business segments.
- Identify new business opportunities across segments, applications and target customer groups
- Drive business development by identifying, generating, and pre‑qualifying new leads in developing markets.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen long‑term customer relationships, expanding networks with new decision‑makers, including company owners and senior stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain close collaboration with the Germany‑based sales organization supporting Indian activities.
- Combine structured market analysis with on‑the‑ground experience to build targeted market intelligence and actively support expansion within defined target markets.
- Willingness to travel extensively within India, as required
Qualifications:
- Senior, experienced machine sales professional, ideally within packaging, processing, or related capital equipment industries.
- Technical, commercial, or business‑related education preferred.
- Demonstrated strategic development skills through track record in developing new business in segments, applications, customer groups.
- Solid understanding of industrial processes, particularly in food packaging or non‑woven applications.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long‑term customer relationships, including engagement with company owners and senior decision‑makers.
- Strong exposure to value‑based selling, with the ability to position quality, performance, and long‑term benefits over price.
- Good verbal and written English is a must, Hindi would be an advantage.
