Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Technical Sales Executive to promote and support Molecular Biology and Life Science instruments across research institutes, universities, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical industries, hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, CROs, and government organizations.
The role encompasses the complete customer engagement cycle, including business development, technical sales, pre-sales support, product demonstrations, installation coordination, application training, and post-sales technical support, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term business relationships.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Promote and sell Molecular Biology and Life Science instruments in the assigned territory.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through customer visits, seminars, conferences, and exhibitions.
- Build and maintain relationships with researchers, laboratory managers, procurement teams, and key decision-makers.
- Help Sales Team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Track market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.
Pre-Sales Support
- Understand customer applications and recommend suitable products and solutions.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and scientific discussions.
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate instruments, accessories, reagents, and consumables.
Installation & Commissioning
- Coordinate and support instrument installation and commissioning at customer sites.
- Ensure site readiness and successful operational qualification.
- Coordinate with the service team to complete installation and documentation.
Application Training
- Provide comprehensive application training to end users on:
- PCR & Real-Time PCR
- Gel Electrophoresis
- Gel Documentation & ChemiDoc Systems
- Western Blotting
- DNA/RNA Extraction workflows
- Instrument software operation
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support customers in method optimization and workflow implementation.
Post-Sales Support
- Provide first-level technical and application support.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and service activities.
- Conduct customer follow-up visits to ensure optimum instrument performance.
- Promote consumables, accessories, software upgrades, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC).
- Maintain high customer satisfaction through timely support and issue resolution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain CRM records and customer databases.
- Submit weekly sales reports, visit reports, installation reports, and training records.
- Coordinate with internal Sales, Service, and Application teams for efficient project execution.
Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Life Sciences, or related disciplines.
- B.Tech./M.Tech. Biotechnology candidates are also encouraged to apply.
- MBA (Marketing) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in Technical Sales, Field Applications, Product Specialist, or Application Support in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Life Science, or Laboratory Instrumentation.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in installation, application training, and customer support will be preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of Molecular Biology techniques and laboratory workflows.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interaction skills.
- Ability to independently conduct product demonstrations, installations, and application training.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good negotiation and sales closing abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
