General brief about the role:
The Junior Associate / Associate within Fundamental Research will support the research and portfolio management process by integrating disciplined technical analysis with fundamental insights. The role is designed to enhance stock selection, timing decisions, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessment through structured market analysis and derivative data interpretation. The incumbent will work closely with the Fundamental Research and Fund Management teams to strengthen research outputs and support informed investment decisions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist the Fundamental Research/Fund team in building and maintaining watchlists for stock recommendations and portfolio inclusion.
• Prepare daily and periodic market snapshots covering major indices, sectors, stock trends, and derivatives insights.
• Prepare technical write-ups for portfolio stocks and watchlist ideas with clear rationale, technical observations, and risk indicators.
• Maintain Excel-based research trackers, dashboards, and operational support files accurately and within timelines.
• Support preparation of internal notes for model portfolio review meetings, stock discussions, and research updates.
• Assist in model portfolio return calculations, portfolio rebalancing processes, and monthly client communications.
• Ensure clean documentation of charts, technical indicators, datasets, assumptions, and observations used in analysis.
Personnel Specification
Education: Graduate in Commerce, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or related disciplines.
Experience: 0–3 years of experience in Financial Markets, Equity Research, Technical Analysis, Portfolio Analytics, or related functions.
Skill Sets:
• Strong understanding of technical analysis concepts including trend analysis, moving averages, RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands, support and resistance, volume analysis, relative strength, and chart patterns.
• Ability to interpret price-volume action and connect technical movements with broader market, sectoral, and stock-specific developments.
• Awareness of derivatives data such as futures open interest, option chains, put-call ratio, implied volatility, rollovers, and expiry-related market behaviour.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, formatting, formulas, charts, conditional formatting, and report preparation.
• Understanding of equity markets, sectoral indices, macro indicators, FII/DII activity, and institutional flow analysis.
• Basic knowledge of Python libraries such as pandas, finance, matplotlib, TA-Lib, or related tools for market analysis.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, Refinitiv, TradingView, or equivalent market platforms.
• CMT/FRM qualifications will be considered an added advantage.

Certifications:

Other Requirements:
• Python knowledge for screening, automation, and data analytics will be an added advantage.
