We are hiring a Technical Project Manager for a product with a complex, microservices-driven product architecture and an aggressive technology roadmap ahead.
This role is designed for an engineer who has transitioned into programme delivery, someone who has written production code, understands system design, and can now drive cross-functional technical execution at a programme level. Pure management profiles will not be considered.
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with the leadership to develop detailed technical implementation roadmaps across multiple concurrent product initiatives
- Translate system architecture decisions into milestone-driven delivery plans with clear ownership, sequencing, and risk coverage
- Work in close partnership with the Scrum Master — owning programme-level planning while ensuring sprint-level execution remains aligned and on track
- Manage technical dependencies across backend services, third-party integrations, data pipelines, and infrastructure components
- Proactively identify delivery and technical risks, structure escalation paths, and maintain accountability across engineering and vendor teams
- Own structured delivery reporting to senior leadership — clear, honest, and grounded in technical reality
Mandatory Technical Competencies
- Hands-on engineering background with proficiency in Python and FastAPI-based backend development
- Working knowledge of React or equivalent modern frontend frameworks
- Strong understanding of containerisation and orchestration — Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging — Redis, Kafka, or equivalent
- Solid grasp of REST and event-driven API architecture, microservices design patterns, and service integration
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / GCP), and DevOps practices
Experience and Background
- 8 to 10 years of total experience, with a minimum of 4 to 5 years in a software engineering or technical architecture role before transitioning into project or programme management
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-service technology products
- Prior exposure to fintech, payments, or banking technology platforms strongly preferred
- Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery frameworks
- GCC market experience is an advantage
