Lightwheel is a Physical AI infrastructure company, building SimReady assets, egocentric human data, and evaluation platforms that power robots to learn and deploy at scale. We capture real human behavior and daily tasks recorded from a first-person perspective using custom VR hardware and motion trackers and turn that into training data for frontier robotics models. About the Role
India is one of Lightwheel's most critical data collection markets, and this role owns the operational heartbeat of that market. You will report directly to the India Operations Lead and serve as the primary point of contact across all four India vendors, responsible for daily output tracking, issue resolution, and making sure data collection runs without gaps. This is a high-ownership individual contributor role you are not supporting someone else's process, you are running it.
What You'll Own
- Own daily vendor communication across all India partners— morning check-ins, output confirmations, and end-of-day status reporting
- Own collector count tracking and daily output reporting; compile and post structured updates for internal leadership review
- Own the ticket and issue system — triage incoming issues, assign to the right contacts, follow up until closed, and flag blockers before they become escalations
- Own escalation triage — identify operational risks early, surface them with context, and drive resolution in coordination with the India Operations Lead.
- Conduct regular site visits to vendor locations to assess ground conditions, reinforce process adherence, and build direct vendor relationships
- Own vendor follow-through — track open action items, send structured reminders, and hold vendors accountable to timelines and commitments
- Build and maintain ops tracking sheets that give real-time visibility into vendor performance, collector activity, and open issues
- Serve as the operational relay between India vendors and the Shanghai/Beijing-based technical and QC teams, translating ground-level issues into clear, structured updates
- Continuously improve coordination workflows, document processes, identify recurring failure points, and propose fixes
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years in operations, vendor management, account coordination, or a similar execution-heavy role
- Strong written and spoken English — daily communication with an international team; clarity in writing is non-negotiable
- Hindi proficiency required for vendor-side communication with ground teams
- High proficiency in building dashboard on Google Sheets — comfortable building trackers and structuring data without setup help
- Exceptional follow-through — you notice what's slipping, you send the follow-up, nothing falls through the cracks
- Comfort with ambiguity and pace — fast-moving startup, evolving processes; you adapt and don't wait for perfect instructions
- Willingness to travel to partner sites within India (primarily Bangalore, Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Kerela etc)
Bonus Points
- Background in tech, AI, or data services — prior experience at a tech company or in a tech-adjacent ops role is a strong plus
- Prior Experience in GenAI/Physical AI companies.
- Knowledge and experience of Vibe Coding to build systems that support operations.
- Prior experience working with BPO, staffing, or data-services vendors at an operational level
