ROLE AND PURPOSE
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, governance, and delivery of tech projects both for ALP as well as for external clients which ALP may have been mandated to deliver. The role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in alignment with the client’s requirements and agreed scope of work, regulatory requirements, and governance standards.
Project Manager will coordinate with stakeholders, including internal delivery teams, client representatives and other 3rd party consultants that may be part of the project, maintain project calendars and reporting, and establish structured project management practices to drive execution excellence. The role plays a critical part in on time, on budget and high-quality delivery of projects to the clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning and Delivery
• Manage and deliver multiple projects in parallel.
• Lead end-to-end project lifecycle management from initiation through closure.
• Develop detailed project plans including scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements.
• Define deliverables, success criteria, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for each project.
• Track progress against approved plans and proactively manage deviations.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within approved budgets, and in accordance with defined quality standards.
• Coordinate dependencies across multiple concurrent projects and external consultants.
Project Governance and Controls
• Establish and maintain structured project governance frameworks, including charters, steering committees (as and when required), and stage gates.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including business cases, status reports, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and change requests.
• Monitor risks and issues and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
• Manage scope control processes and ensure all changes are formally reviewed and approved internally as well as with the client.
• Provide regular progress updates and dashboards to senior management and client reps.
• Apply Agile ways of working where required (sprints, backlogs, stand-ups)
Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of coordination between technology teams, quant teams, clients stakeholders, and external partners / consultants.
• Translate agreed scope of work into actionable project plans and deliverables.
• Manage expectations of sponsors and stakeholders through transparent communication and reporting.
• Escalate critical issues and decisions to senior leadership as appropriate.
Portfolio and Calendar Management
• Maintain a project calendar based on all the projects under execution.
• Support prioritization and sequencing of projects based on capacity, dependencies, resource planning and client engagement.
• Track resource utilization and coordinate allocation across projects.
• Provide portfolio-level reporting, highlighting delivery status, risks, and strategic impact.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree or MBA is desirable.
• Professional project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or equivalent is preferred.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in technical project or program management, preferably within consulting or IT consulting industry with specific focus in the areas of data engineering, data analytics and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
• Good understanding of Agile and traditional project management.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
o Proficiency in project planning and tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ClickUp, or equivalent).
o Understanding of banking operations, digital transformation, and regulatory frameworks.
o Ability to analyze data and prepare executive-level reports and dashboards.
Soft Skills:
o Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
o Excellent organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
o Structured problem-solving and risk management mindset.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership.
