Technical Project Manager – Data Technologies
Roles And Responsibilities:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) with strong expertise in data technologies to lead and deliver complex data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will bridge business objectives with technical execution across data engineering, analytics, BI, and cloud platforms, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Project Management
Own end-to-end delivery of data and analytics projects, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes aligned with business goals.
Manage multiple Agile workstreams including data engineering, BI, reporting, and platform modernization initiatives.
Develop detailed project plans, track milestones, and proactively mitigate risks and dependencies.
Monitor sprint execution, track velocity, and report on program health and delivery metrics.
Ensure governance, compliance, and data quality standards across all initiatives.
Requirements & Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and translate data and analytics requirements into user stories and epics.
Work closely with data architects, engineers, and analysts to validate solution design and technical feasibility.
Conduct impact analysis, data flow mapping, and gap assessments.
Ensure traceability of requirements from design through deployment.
Manage prioritization of data-related incidents, enhancements, and change requests.
Data Platform & Technology Oversight
Oversee implementation and optimization of data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes).
Manage projects involving data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud data platforms.
Ensure best practices in data governance, security, scalability, and performance optimization.
Coordinate DevOps and CI/CD processes for data deployments.
Monitor data quality frameworks and performance metrics.
Pre-Sales & Solution Support
Support pre-sales activities including defining solution scope, architecture approach, timelines, and effort estimation.
Participate in client discussions, RFP/RFI responses, and proposal presentations.
Provide delivery feasibility assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
Team Leadership
Lead cross-functional teams including data engineers, BI developers, analysts, architects, and QA teams.
Foster collaboration between onsite and offshore teams.
Mentor team members and support capability building in emerging data technologies.
Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills
8+ years of experience in technology projects
Minimum 3+ years managing data engineering or analytics programs
Strong experience in Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, BI, and Advanced Analytics projects
Hands-on exposure to ETL/ELT tools (Informatica, Talend, ADF, SSIS, etc.)
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP – Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, Azure Synapse)
Strong knowledge of SQL, databases (RDBMS / NoSQL), and data modeling
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (Jira, Azure DevOps)
Understanding of data governance, security, compliance, and MDM
Experience managing distributed or multi-vendor teams
Good to Have
Exposure to Big Data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Databricks)
Experience in AI/ML project coordination
Knowledge of data cataloging and metadata management tools
PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage ambiguity and evolving priorities
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
