About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Manager - Technical (PMT) to join Mastercard’s Decision Management team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the Authorization Decisioning product, which is crucial for enabling faster, smarter, and more secure decision-making processes across global payment systems. This position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, engineering, and operations, to develop a comprehensive product roadmap and translate business needs into detailed, actionable development tasks. The PMT will serve as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring alignment of technological capabilities with strategic objectives.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions that combat credit card fraud and enhance the security and efficiency of digital payments worldwide. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating impactful financial technology products that improve customer experience and operational resilience.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business, or a STEM-related field; a graduate degree in Computer Science, Business, or Fintech is preferred.
- Proven experience in software engineering, data analytics, or product management within the fintech, payments, or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of data-intensive applications, APIs, Java, Spring, microservices, containers, and event-driven architectures.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and translate abstract inputs into structured, actionable plans using tools like JIRA, Rally, or Asana.
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn about evolving payment technologies and security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between product marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders to understand business drivers and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain a shared product roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and technical feasibility.
- Translate business needs and technical dependencies into detailed, development-ready specifications for the engineering team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and enhance the Authorization Decisioning product, ensuring high throughput, low latency, and data security.
- Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and reviews, to deliver continuous improvements.
- Monitor system performance and operational metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in digital payments, cybersecurity, and fintech to inform product development and strategic planning.
- Ensure compliance with Mastercard’s security policies and contribute to maintaining a secure environment for all product activities.
