Role & Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth on-ground user research, usability testing, and design research in rural and semi-urban settings to deeply understand user needs, workflows, and pain points.
- Perform comprehensive market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, validate product-market fit, and inform product strategy.
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative feedback from field studies, surveys, system logs, and other sources into actionable product insights and prioritized roadmaps.
- Collate, clean, and analyze diverse datasets using tools like Excel, SQL, Python, or R to identify trends, measure impact, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Translate user insights, field learnings, and technical requirements into clear, detailed product specifications, user stories, and PRDs.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, data science, and clinical teams on brainstorming, technical architecture, feasibility assessment, and project planning.
- Lead stakeholder management with government officials, public health departments, NGOs, clinicians, and channel partners to align on needs, gather requirements, and ensure successful adoption.
- Travel frequently to field locations to coordinate implementations, observe real-world usage, support user training, and troubleshoot issues during pilot rollouts.
- Define and monitor KPIs to measure product performance, user adoption, and clinical impact.
- Contribute to 0-to-1 product development cycles, from concept validation to scalable deployment.
Required Skills & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Public Health, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably in digital health, health-tech, medical devices, or hardware solutioning.
- Proven experience in building or managing hardware products (e.g., medical devices, diagnostic tools, IoT/connected hardware) experience with ultrasound probes, portable diagnostic devices, or similar is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated 0-to-1 product development experience, taking products from ideation to market launch.
- Strong user research, design research, and market research skills with the ability to synthesize insights into compelling product requirements.
- Solid technical knowledge ability to engage deeply with hardware, firmware, AI/ML components, data pipelines, and system integration.
- Proficiency in data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis (Excel, SQL, Python, R) - not mandatory.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including experience coordinating with government and public health ecosystems.
- Proficiency in Hindi is highly desirable for effective field engagement.
- Comfortable working independently in rural/semi-urban environments with frequent travel (up to 30-40%).
- Passion for leveraging technology to solve critical health challenges in India.
- Familiarity with health delivery systems is a significant plus.
