About the Position
WOTR is looking for a motivated and field-oriented professional for the position of Technical Officer (Watershed Management) who is passionate about rural development and sustainable natural resource management.
Key Responsibilities / Scope of Work
- Accountable and responsible for project interventions in assigned blocks/areas in close coordination with the Project Manager.
- Build and maintain strong rapport with communities, PRI members, government officials, and other key stakeholders at block and district levels.
- Prepare designs, estimates, and supervise execution of watershed and allied structures while maintaining proper records.
- Promote, administer, and manage watershed activities and groundwater management programs.
- Ensure timely compliance with reporting requirements and conduct periodic program review meetings.
- Maintain proper MIS records, watershed documentation (MB – Measurement Book, stock register, muster roll, etc.).
- Prepare Net Plans and conduct site selection for watershed structures including drainage and area treatments.
- Facilitate preparation and submission of the Village Action Plan (VAP) to Gram Sabha and ensure approvals at Panchayat, Block, and District levels.
- Document case studies and success stories.
- Undertake extensive field visits as required.
- Provide hands-on support and undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Tech in Agriculture / B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant field experience
- Watershed experiance is must
- Knowledge of Hindi and local language preferred
- Prior experience in the development sector will be an added advantage
