Role Description The Technical Manager will be responsible for preparing and validating guaranteed technical particulars (GTP) for wires and cables of all types in both the company’s format and clients’ formats. Based in Sonipat and involves close collaboration with production, quality, and sales teams to ensure that technical specifications meet regulatory, client, and internal standards. Day-to-day activities include reviewing drawings and technical documents, coordinating with R&D on new products or design changes, and providing technical support during client queries, tenders, and audits. The Technical Manager will oversee the standardization of technical documentation, ensure compliance with relevant BIS standards and certifications, and support project management activities related to product approvals and client onboarding. The role also includes mentoring team members on technical processes and contributing to continuous improvement in documentation and technical communication.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret standards, client specifications, and test reports, and to translate them into accurate technical particulars.
- Team management capabilities to guide and coordinate technical staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support knowledge sharing.
- Technical support experience to address client queries, assist sales and tender teams, and resolve specification-related issues for wires and cables.
- Background in research and development (R&D) and project management to support new product development, product modifications, and technical approval projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, preferably with experience in cables, conductors, or power systems.
- Familiarity with national and international cable standards (e.g., BIS, IEC) and quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Proficiency in technical documentation, MS Office, and basic design or drawing review tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup based in Sonipat.
