Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead the design, development, and operational excellence of scalable web and mobile platforms. This role will be responsible for driving technical architecture, mentoring engineering teams, reviewing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring strong engineering processes across development and testing functions.
The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, architectural thinking, and a strong process-oriented mindset. This person should be capable of building systems that can scale to serve large user bases across mobile and web applications while continuously improving team capability and technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and guide scalable, secure, and high-performance architecture for web and mobile applications capable of serving large user volumes.
• Lead and mentor developers and testers, ensuring continuous learning, capability building, and adoption of modern engineering practices.
• Manage, coach, and groom engineering team members to improve technical depth, delivery quality, and readiness for evolving technologies.
• Review, monitor, and optimize AWS / cloud infrastructure to ensure systems are properly configured, reliable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Drive engineering best practices, code quality, release discipline, and process adherence across the team. • Provide technical direction on backend and full-stack development using technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and related frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and architecture patterns, and make practical recommendations for adoption.
• Support system performance tuning, database design considerations, and technology decisions across MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other database systems.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical reviews, and problem-solving discussions to ensure robust delivery outcomes.
• Promote a structured, process-driven engineering culture with a focus on quality,
scalability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Engineering graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in software engineering / application development.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing a team of developers.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of AWS / cloud infrastructure and production environment management.
- Good understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other database technologies.
- Proven experience in designing scalable application architecture for high-traffic mobile and web platforms.
- Strong aptitude, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineering teams.
- Strong process orientation and commitment to engineering governance and quality practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Working knowledge of React.js and React Native.
• Exposure to modern web and mobile application architecture patterns.
• Experience in improving engineering maturity, team capability, and delivery
processes.
• Familiarity with performance optimization, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure
best practices.
