Roles & Responsibilities:
· Technical Leadership & Development Team Management
a. Lead and coordinate a team of developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable applications within agreed timelines.
b. Provide technical direction on architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and implementation approaches.
c. Break down requirements into technical tasks, estimate effort, assign work, and track progress across sprints/releases.
d. Conduct code reviews and enforce engineering best practices for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
e. Mentor developers through design reviews, pair programming, technical coaching, and performance guidance.
f. Drive technical decision-making and resolve engineering blockers across frontend, backend, APIs, and database layers.
· Solution Architecture & Engineering Delivery
a. Architect and implement robust application solutions using modern frameworks (e.g., React.js / Next.js) and scalable backend/data designs.
b. Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data access patterns (e.g., PostgreSQL) for performance and reliability.
c. Translate functional requirements into solution designs, technical specifications, and implementation plans.
d. Ensure non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, security, observability, maintainability) are addressed early in the delivery lifecycle.
e. Collaborate with DevOps teams for CI/CD, environment setup, deployment strategy, and release readiness.
· Stakeholder Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
a. Work closely with product managers, business analysts, designers, QA, and customer-facing teams to align on requirements, scope, and delivery priorities.
b. Communicate technical concepts, constraints, risks, and trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
c. Provide regular delivery status updates, highlight dependencies, and escalate risks/issues with mitigation options.
d. Facilitate technical discussions, requirement clarification workshops, and design walkthroughs with internal and external stakeholders.
e. Build stakeholder confidence through structured communication, issue transparency, and solution-oriented engagement.
· Presales Engagement & Solution Proposal Drafting
a. Support presales and business development teams in technical discovery sessions, solution discussions, and client workshops.
b. Analyze customer requirements and propose feasible solution options aligned to business outcomes, timelines, and budget constraints.
c. Contribute to drafting technical sections of proposals, SoW documents, response decks, solution approaches, assumptions, risks, and effort estimates.
d. Prepare solution diagrams, high-level architecture, integration approach, and phased delivery recommendations for client presentations.
e. Support technical clarifications during bid/tender stages and participate in customer Q&A discussions.
· Issue Remediation, Incident Response & Crisis Management
a. Lead troubleshooting and remediation of critical defects, production issues, and high-severity incidents.
b. Coordinate cross-functional response during crises (development, QA, infra, support, product) to restore service and reduce impact.
c. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and define corrective/preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
d. Establish incident management practices including triage, prioritization, escalation, communication, and post-incident review.
e. Drive stabilization plans for systems with recurring issues (technical debt reduction, performance tuning, monitoring improvements).
· AI-Driven Delivery & Engineering Productivity
a. Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve software delivery speed and quality across coding, code review, testing, documentation, and debugging.
b. Introduce AI-enabled engineering practices for:
c. Code scaffolding and refactoring support
d. Test case/script generation
e. Documentation and technical specification drafting
f. Defect analysis and troubleshooting assistance
g. Knowledge retrieval for faster onboarding and issue resolution
h. Establish governance for AI-assisted development (review standards, validation steps, security/compliance considerations).
i. Promote practical AI adoption in delivery without compromising code quality, maintainability, or architecture standards.
· Continuous Improvement & Technical Governance
a. Drive engineering process improvements, reusable components, and framework standardization.
b. Identify delivery bottlenecks and recommend improvements in planning, estimation, testing, deployment, and collaboration practices.
c. Stay updated on relevant technologies, frameworks, and industry trends; evaluate and recommend adoption where beneficial.
d. Contribute to technical roadmap discussions and capability-building within the team.
Skills:
· 5+ years of software development experience, with hands-on technical leadership responsibilities.
· Strong experience in React.js and Next.js for modern web application development.
· Strong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend development practices.
· Solid understanding of PostgreSQL database design, query writing, optimization, and performance tuning.
· Experience designing and integrating APIs (REST/GraphQL preferred) and handling end-to-end application flows.
· Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable application design.
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and release/deployment processes.
Leadership & Delivery Skills
· Proven experience leading and mentoring development teams in project delivery environments.
· Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing coding standards and engineering governance.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
· Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.
· Experience running requirement discussions, technical workshops, and solution walkthroughs.
· Ability to explain technical trade-offs, risks, and remediation strategies in a clear and structured manner.
· Strong documentation skills for technical designs, solution notes, and proposal inputs.
