We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Technical Consultant specialized in building and configuring detection rules for compliance purposes. You will work closely with compliance, risk, and IT teams to design, implement, and optimize rule-based monitoring solutions that support regulatory requirements such as AML, fraud monitoring, sanctions screening, and payment screening. Your expertise will help clients mitigate risk, detect suspicious activity, and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance using sophisticated rules engines and analytics platforms. This role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients, business stakeholders, and compliance teams to onboard them onto the FinTech platform, gathering requirements and ensuring seamless delivery within agreed timelines for rule-based monitoring and detection.
  • Build detection rules based on regulatory requirements and continuously tune them to ensure accurate results with fewer false positives and negatives.
  • Monitor system performance, assess the impact of rule changes, and recommend improvements based on business feedback and regulatory updates.
  • Use automation and configuration tools (GitHub, YAML, Helm, Kubernetes), along with shell scripting, SQL, and XML/JSON configurations, to deploy, configure, integrate, and troubleshoot platform components
  • Participate in technical meetings with clients, discussing SAML, SSO, REST APIs, Architecture Design, and basic networking considerations.
  • Work with solution architects to translate functional needs into technical, architectural, and data specifications, factoring in AI components where relevant.
  • Advocate and implement best practices for version control, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment patterns.
  • Research emerging technologies and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and documentation for deployed solutions.
  • Deploy AI/ML models as part of compliance solutions, including model endpoints and integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Assist with data preparation, validation, and feature engineering for AI applications, ensuring high-quality inputs for model performance.
  • Educate and train clients on how to interpret and leverage AI-powered features and outputs.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor deployed AI solutions, identifying issues such as data drift, model degradation, or unexpected output, and escalate where necessary.

Skills & Qualifications

4-9 years of experience is desired.

  • Hands-on experience with compliance and rule management platforms will be a bonus, and strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as AML, KYC, FATCA, OFAC, GDPR, and PCI DSS.
  • Proficiency with GitHub for version control and familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience configuring and deploying applications using YAML, Helm, and a working knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Strong SQL skills for configuration and basic performance tuning; experience with shell scripting (Bash) for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of XML and JSON configurations and data integrations.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs (and GraphQL), SAML/SSO, and general networking fundamentals.
  • Coding experience in a modern language such as Python or Java.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with AI/ML models in day-to-day work, including configuring model inputs/outputs, monitoring performance metrics, identifying data and collaborating on remediation actions.
  • Practical experience using AI and LLM APIs (e.g., via REST endpoints or SDKs) to support day‑to‑day technical and analytical work, including prompt design, response validation, workflow automation, and integration of AI outputs into business or compliance processes.
  • Strong Linux/Unix skills and experience working in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP; certification preferred).
  • Prior exposure to financial services, particularly financial crime, AML, KYC, or fraud detection domains.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
