The Company
Trippal is building the next generation of travel technology. Not another itinerary app. A spatial memory and AI planning platform where travellers plan, navigate, and relive their journeys through an immersive 3D experience.
We combine interactive globe navigation, AI-generated itineraries, and geo-verified memory tracking into one seamless product. We are early, ambitious, and looking for the engineer who wants to build something that actually matters.
The Founder
Trippal is founded by an IIT Delhi entrepreneur with hands-on experience building and scaling early-stage startups. The founding vision is backed by deep product thinking, a strong network across the Indian startup ecosystem, and a genuine obsession with travel and consumer technology.
You will not be working under a manager. You will be building alongside a founder who understands the product deeply, moves fast, and is equally invested in making this work.
The Role
You will be the first technical hire and a founding team member. That means full ownership. You design the architecture, make the calls, write the code, and ship the MVP. No bureaucracy, no committees. Just you, the problem, and the tools to solve it.
This is not a contractor role. This is a co-founder seat.
What You Will Build
- Core Platform Build a secure, high-performance web application from scratch using Next.js, React, and Supabase. Design the database schema, authentication flows, and API layer with scalability in mind from day one.
- 3D Globe Interface Develop the centerpiece of the product: an interactive 3D globe using WebGL and Globe.gl. This is the primary navigation layer users will interact with daily.
- AI Itinerary Engine Integrate the OpenAI API to generate dynamic, personalised travel itineraries with strict structured JSON outputs. The AI layer should feel like a smart travel companion, not a chatbot.
- Geo-Verification System Build a robust engine that reads image EXIF metadata and validates location authenticity by comparing it against live GPS coordinates using the Haversine formula. This is the backbone of our memory-verification feature.
- Travel Wallet Design and implement a secure document vault for sensitive user data, protected by strict Row Level Security policies in Supabase.
- Progressive Web App Ship a PWA with service workers, offline caching, background sync, and Web Push notifications so the app works as reliably in a mountain village as it does in a city.
Who You Are
You have deep, hands-on experience across this stack:
- Frontend: React, Next.js (App Router, Server Actions), Tailwind CSS
- Backend: PostgreSQL, Supabase (Auth, Database, Storage, Edge Functions)
- 3D Graphics: WebGL, Three.js, or Globe.gl
- APIs and Data: RESTful API design, file handling, browser media libraries like Exifr
- Mindset: You default to shipping. You know the difference between MVP and over-engineering, and you choose the former every time.
You do not need to be told what to do next. You figure it out.
