Job Description
Position Title: Technical Assistant – Finance
Location: Kolkata
I. Job Objective
To support the Managing Director in financial analysis, strategic decision-making, and business performance monitoring by delivering structured MIS, actionable financial insights, and effective coordination with cross-functional teams.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Analysis & MIS
- Prepare and analyze monthly MIS reports, variance analysis, and performance dashboards
- Track key financial metrics such as EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Monitor budget versus actual performance and highlight deviations
- Support the MD in financial planning and review discussions
3. Business Performance Monitoring
- Track performance of plants, projects, and business units
- Prepare review summaries and briefing notes for MD meetings
- Follow up with respective teams on action points and deliverables
4. Strategic & Investment Support
- Assist in evaluation of capital expenditure proposals, including IRR and DSCR analysis
- Support financial due diligence and feasibility studies
- Develop financial models and perform sensitivity analysis
5. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with finance, commercial, and business teams
- Ensure timely collection, validation, and consolidation of data
- Act as a coordination bridge between the MD Office and departments
6. Compliance & Governance Support
- Track audit observations and ensure timely closure
- Support adherence to financial controls and governance practices
- Assist in preparation of board and management reports
III. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy and timeliness of reports and analysis
- Adherence to project and reporting timelines
- Effectiveness in issue tracking and closure
- Quality of financial insights and recommendations
- Coordination efficiency across departments
IV. Qualifications & Experience
- Qualification: CA / CA Inter
- Experience: 3–5 years in finance, consulting, or corporate planning
V. Required Skills
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities
- Sound understanding of financial statements and ratios
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong business acumen and attention to detail
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
