The Role
We are seeking a skilled Technical Assistant with a strong mechanical background to support our product development and manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll work hands-on with our engineering team to ensure our autonomous underwater vehicles meet the highest performance and reliability standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technology and contribute directly to India's strategic capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support in mechanical assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of autonomous marine vessels
- Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and quality control of mechanical systems and components
- Handle procurement of mechanical parts, tools, and materials; manage inventory and vendor coordination
- Support workshop operations including equipment setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance
- Perform administrative tasks such as documentation, filing, and coordinating with suppliers and clients
- Maintain a clean, organised work environment, ensuring safety and efficiency in the workshop
Required Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 2-6 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or workshop environment
- Strong understanding of basic mechanical principles, machining processes, and assembly techniques
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
- Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
- Preferred Experience
- Experience in marine, aerospace, or defense manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation
- Candidates based in Bengaluru are preferred
