About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Artist with strong expertise in Unity and mobile game development to help bridge the gap between art, design, and engineering.
This role focuses on building high-quality, optimized game visuals and systems for mobile games, including VFX implementation, environment setup, lighting, shader creation, asset integration, and performance optimization.
You will work closely with artists, designers, animators, and developers to ensure that game content is visually polished, technically efficient, and production ready.
Key Responsibilities
Unity Technical Art
- Own and manage technical art implementation inside Unity
- Integrate and optimize art assets, animations, shaders, VFX, lighting, and environments
- Support the art pipeline from content creation to in-engine implementation
VFX Creation & Integration
- Create high-quality real-time VFX for:
- Gameplay
- UI interactions
- Environmental effects
- Feedback systems
- Implement and optimize VFX systems for mobile platforms
- Collaborate with design teams to improve gameplay feel and responsiveness
Environment & Lighting Setup
- Create and populate modular environment setups inside Unity
- Build visually polished scenes using modular workflows
- Create and implement high-quality lighting setups for gameplay and environments
- Balance visual quality and mood while maintaining mobile performance budgets
- Maintain consistency in scene composition, lighting, and optimization
Shader Development
- Create, adapt, and optimize shaders for gameplay and environments
- Work with Shader Graph and custom shader workflows
- Improve visual quality while maintaining mobile performance standards
Animation & Asset Integration
- Integrate character animations, props, VFX, UI assets, and environment assets into Unity
- Ensure assets function correctly across gameplay systems and pipelines
- Collaborate with animators and artists to troubleshoot technical implementation issues
Optimization & Performance
- Apply optimization techniques for mobile platforms
- Profile and improve rendering, memory, lighting, VFX, and runtime performance
- Ensure assets and scenes meet performance budgets and technical requirements
Required Skills
- Expert-level proficiency with the Unity Game Engine
- Strong understanding of technical art pipelines for mobile games
- Experience creating and implementing real-time VFX in Unity
- Ability to build and populate modular environment setups
- Strong understanding of lighting setup and scene mood creation in Unity
- Strong knowledge of mobile optimization techniques
- Experience delivering mobile game projects involving:
- environments
- VFX
- lighting
- technical implementation
- Strong understanding of animation and asset integration workflows
- Experience creating and adapting shaders in Unity
- Familiarity with:
- Shader Graph
- Particle Systems
- Materials & Lighting
- Prefab workflows
- Scene optimization
Bonus Skills
- Experience with URP pipelines
- Knowledge of scripting (C#) for technical art tools/workflows
- Experience with stylized rendering pipelines
- Understanding of post-processing workflows
- Familiarity with mobile memory and GPU optimization strategies
- Experience building tools or workflows for artists inside Unity
