Role Overview/Your Impact
1)Define and drive the architecture for a modern SaaS Expense Management platform built around REST APIs, modular services, workflow automation, data processing, reporting, and AI-assisted capabilities.
2)Lead the transition from the current platform to a modern technology stack with a clear phased modernization roadmap.
3)Establish architecture principles, design standards, shared engineering patterns, and implementation guidelines across teams.
4)Design the platform for multi-tenancy, tenant isolation, scalability, observability, security, performance, and high availability.
5)Define the approach for backend services, front-end architecture, database design, caching, search, messaging, workflow, reporting, and integration layers.
6)Create API-first architecture standards including authentication, authorization, versioning, documentation, error handling, logging, monitoring, and governance.
7)Architect AI-assisted platform capabilities such as invoice intelligence, contract intelligence, anomaly detection, document understanding, operational automation, and conversational insights.
8)Actively use AI coding and engineering tools for solution exploration, architecture validation, codebase understanding, scaffolding, refactoring, test strategy, documentation, and code review support, while retaining full ownership of quality, correctness, security, and maintainability.
9)Establish practical guidelines for how engineering teams should use AI coding tools responsibly across development, reviews, refactoring, testing, and documentation.
10)Ensure AI capabilities are implemented with clear guardrails, privacy controls, auditability, explainability where required, and strong human oversight.
11)Review solution designs, data models, API designs, integration approaches, and critical technical decisions.
12)Evaluate AI-generated code, designs, and recommendations against platform architecture, coding standards, security expectations, and long-term maintainability.
13)Mentor technical leads and senior engineers while helping teams make practical, scalable, and maintainable design choices.
14)Work closely with Product, Engineering, Data, DevOps, QA, Operations, and leadership teams to align technical execution with business priorities.
Our Expectations
•12–15 years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in solution, platform, or enterprise architecture roles.
•Proven experience leading modernization of enterprise SaaS or large-scale business platforms.
•Strong experience designing REST API-driven platforms, modular services, and distributed application architectures.
•Hands-on engineering background in modern backend technologies such as .NET Core / .NET 6+, Python.
•Strong understanding of front-end architecture using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
•Experience with database architecture, schema design, query performance, migrations, and production data management.
•Strong understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, role-based access, tenant isolation, security, auditability, and configurability.
•Experience with message-driven architecture, background processing, event-driven design, or workflow-based systems.
•Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containers, CI/CD, DevOps practices, logging, monitoring, and observability.
•Demonstrable experience using AI coding tools for scaffolding, refactoring, code review, codebase exploration, test generation, documentation, and productivity improvement, while maintaining strong engineering judgment and quality ownership.
•Ability to define architectural standards and ensure adoption through design reviews, technical governance, and mentoring.
•Strong communication skills with the ability to work with senior leadership as well as hands-on engineering teams.
