Tech Lead for BI
Responsibilities:
Job Description:
BI & Technical Leadership
- Lead and deliver end to end BI POCs to support pricing strategy, experimentation, and decision making.
- Architect scalable and efficient data models, dashboards, and analytical frameworks for pricing use cases.
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for BI solutions within the pricing domain.
- Review and guide best practices for SQL optimization, data validation, and performance tuning.
Analytics & Problem Solving
- Solve complex analytical and technical problems related to pricing, revenue, elasticity, and experimentation.
- Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with product managers, pricing strategists, data scientists, and engineering teams to align solutions with business goals.
Automation & AI Enablement
- Proactively identify automation opportunities across BI workflows (data preparation, reporting, anomaly detection, insights generation).
- Design and implement Python-based automation for recurring analytics and reporting use cases.
- Explore and integrate AI/ML-driven solutions (e.g., predictive insights, intelligent alerts, GenAI-assisted analysis) to enhance pricing analytics.
- Drive POCs that demonstrate measurable productivity gains through automation.
Delivery & Execution
- Manage and track work using JIRA, ensuring timely delivery of POCs and production-ready solutions.
- Mentor junior analysts and developers, providing technical guidance and design reviews.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders, presenting insights, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Lead data-driven recommendations and insights to support strategic projects across Central Operations
- Lead cross-functional teams in specific initiatives; recognizes dependencies between teams; drive and clarify ownership of those dependencies
- Understand the business, track operational performance, provide insights and recommendations
- Support company-wide programs through ownership of analytical projects
- Establish strong working relationships with peers in other Global Operations teams and cross-functional partners (sales leadership, finance, sales operations, systems) to achieve objectives
- Build dashboards and automated reports, working proficiently with data visualization and querying/analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, SQL, Python)
- Own data tables, and work with stakeholders to ensure available data is accurate, consistent, and timely
- Own technical implementations and documentation associated with datasets and strive for 100% accuracy
- Comfortably identify and frame specific business problems; creates hypotheses, builds key analyses, and develops recommendations; gains alignment with stakeholders for implementation.
- Independently manage expectations from stakeholders; manages deadlines/timeframes for larger initiatives and projects with minimal guidance on prioritization or dependencies
Preferred Qualifications:
- BS/BE/B Tech degree in a quantitative discipline (statistics, operations research, computer science, information engineering, engineering, applied mathematics, economics, business analytics, etc)
- 3+ years of experience working with data in a business setting, including data management, process execution, operations, reporting, or analytics.
- 4+ years of experience in Tableau/PowerBI and SQL
- 4+ years of experience in Python
- Exceptional analytical and technical skills, with clear attention to detail
- Ability to leverage numbers and insights to influence & drive sound decision making
Data & Business Intelligence
