SUMMARY:
The Commercial Loan Processor is responsible for coordinating and processing all commercial loan requests from application through closing. This role ensures all loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The position works closely with loan officers, members, and third parties to facilitate timely closings while maintaining high credit and documentation standards. The Commercial Loan Processor also contributes to reporting functions and supports the growth and quality of the commercial loan portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and process commercial loan closing packages, ensuring all required documentation and conditions are satisfied prior to closing (e.g., appraisals, title work, UCC filings, environmental reports).
- Generate commercial loan documents using LaserPro or similar systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Coordinate with title companies, government agencies, attorneys, and other third parties to obtain required filings and documentation.
- Schedule and facilitate loan closings, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Review loan approvals to verify accuracy of loan amounts, terms, and conditions in accordance with committee decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or specialized training in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience preparing commercial loan documents using LaserPro or similar software desired.
- 2+ years of experience commercial lending, loan processing, or a related banking/credit union function desired.
- Experience preparing loan closing packages and meeting production or performance goals desired.
- Basic understanding of banking or credit union operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation and closing processes.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to commercial lending.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
