Purpose / Objective
To drive efficient procurement and inventory management by ensuring timely availability of spares and consumables, optimizing costs through strategic sourcing, and implementing best-in-class purchasing and inventory practices. The role also focuses on contract lifecycle management (ARC/service contracts) and compliance with organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement and storage of spares and consumables in line with business requirements
- Identify, negotiate, issue, renew, and close Annual Rate Contracts (ARC) and service contracts
- Ensure optimal inventory levels through effective planning and control mechanisms
- Implement best purchasing practices and continuous improvement initiatives in procurement and stores
- Drive standardization of procurement processes and contract frameworks
Key Accountabilities & KPIs
- Inventory Management
- Plan and maintain inventory levels of raw materials, spares, and consumables in alignment with standard operating procedures
- Contract Lifecycle Management
- Ensure timely issuance, renewal, and closure of supply and service contracts
- Contract Standardization
- Incorporate key provisions such as safety norms, fuel escalation clauses, regulatory compliance, and liability for handling losses
- Process Benchmarking
- Benchmark procurement and stores practices and implement best practices across AHPPL
- IMS Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Integrated Management Systems (IMS) in procurement, storage, and billing processes
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all contracts adhere to quality, legal, financial, and safety standards
- Scrap Sales Optimization
- Maximize value realization through efficient and strategic scrap sales processes
- Team Engagement & Motivation
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, coaching, and engagement
- Training & Development
- Drive continuous learning and capability development to enhance team efficiency and individual growth
- Leadership Development
- Build a strong leadership pipeline within procurement, commercial contracts, and stores functions
Educational Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil)
- Preferred: MBA or Diploma in Materials Management
Relevant Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in Procurement, Stores, and Service/Commercial Contracts
