Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end US payroll processing across weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll.
- Review and validate payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, bonuses, commission payments, garnishments, and benefits deductions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax requirements.
- Handle payroll audits, reconciliations, tax reporting, and employee inquiries.
- Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Tax, and external payroll vendors to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Maintain payroll documentation, controls, and SOPs.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll and personal data in accordance with company policies and data privacy regulations.
- Prepare and present payroll metrics, dashboards, KPIs, and service delivery reports to management and stakeholders.
- Identify and drive process improvement, automation, standardization, and operational excellence initiatives to improve efficiency and employee experience.
Team Leadership
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, providing regular feedback.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and SLA performance.
- Support training, cross-skilling, and career development support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, HR, or related field.
- 4-6 years of US payroll experience with 2+ years of team management experience.
- Strong knowledge of US payroll legislation, federal and state tax regulations, garnishments, and wage-hour compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a Shared Services or Global Business Services environment preferred.
